Sunday Morning Matters: Shutdown continues, Steve Hilton, supervisor retiring

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE) – As a government shutdown drags on into its second week, lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle are digging in their heels and refusing to budge on their priorities to get the lights turned back on in Washington.

This week on Sunday Morning Matters, we hear from top lawmakers on Capitol Hill as they fight for what they want to be kept out or included in any deal to get the government reopened again.

Also, Republican California gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton sits down with Eric Rucker to discuss why he believes Proposition 50 should not be passed by voters in the special election, now only a few weeks away.

Plus, Fresno County Supervisor Buddy Mendes announces he will not seek reelection when his term ends next year.
